RNL Advanced FinAid Solutions (AFAS) Report

This report provides student award information for a specified academic year formatted for the purposes of data sharing with Ruffalo Noel Levitz (RNL) for those who use Advanced FinAid Solutions.

Note: This report is only available if the RNL Customer field on the School Profile page is set to Yes.

To generate an RNL AFAS report, complete the following steps:

  1. Select Reporting in the top navigation bar to open the Reporting menu along the left side of the page.
  2. Select Standard Reports.
  1. From the Standard Reports list, select RNL Advanced FinAid Solutions (AFAS).
  2. Choose the academic year from which you want to pull data from the Academic Year list.
  3. Choose the population of students you want to include in the report from the Selection Set list.
  1. Select whether the students' housing status should be reported as the primary.
  2. Select whether the students' first generation status should be included.
  3. Optionally, select the field in the system that contains an alternate student ID you want to include in the report. You can select the College Board FinAid ID or any custom data fields you have created that are an integer, decimal, or string field type, and are not associated with the Payment Period section of the student record.
  4. Specify any additional data points to include in the report by selecting the associated student record fields from the User Defined lists. You can add up to 25 additional data points to the report, including any custom data you have created. You cannot select fields that are associated with the Payment Period section of the student record.

    Note: For more information on the data included in this report, see the Report Details section below.

  1. Select Generate Report. A green success message appears in the top right to let you know the report is being generated and a second green message will appear once the file is generated successfully.
  1. Select Import/Export in the top navigation bar to open the Import/Export menu along the left side of the page.
  2. Select File Manager.
  1. In the File Manager, navigate to Exports > Reporting > Standard Reports.
  2. Select the report you want to download.

    Tip: To download multiple documents, you can multi-select files by using your keyboard. If you wish to select multiple files that are listed next to one another, press and hold shift and select the first and last file from the list. If you wish to select multiple files not listed beside one another, press and hold Ctrl and select your desired files.

  3. Select the Download download icon icon.

    Note: Once you've selected to download the file, it can be located on your device in the Downloads folder, or another file location depending on your browser settings.

This report is formatted to the September 2023 AFAS version specifications. Expand the following section for a chart outlining all fields included in the report, where the associated data comes from within PowerFAIDS, and any associated logic.
