Student Information Import Global Posting Options
Before importing and posting student data for the first time, be sure to review and configure the global posting options. The global posting options apply to all users. Setting the global posting options based on your school's processing preferences prevents users from having to set these options manually in the student import process each time and maintains consistency if more than one person can import, though each person will still have the option to change the settings during the import process for a particular file.
To configure the global posting options, complete the following steps:
Configure the Global Posting Options.
- Select Global Posting Options in the Student Information Import header.
- Select the Posting Type option based on whether you want the import to create new student records or not.
- Select the Match Student By option that best fits your uploading needs. Since the SSN and Student ID are not both required in the file, the records in the file must have the selected option to be processed.
Tip: If you are attempting to update a Student ID, the file must contain the SSN and Student ID, and the Match Student By setting must be set to SSN.
If you want to update a SSN, the file must contain the SSN and Student ID and the Match Student By setting must be set to Student ID.
- After configuring according to your preferences, select Save.
