Previewing a Communication Template

Before using a communication template to send communications to students, you can preview the output. To preview a communication template, complete the following steps:

1. Navigate to Communication Templates within System Administration.

1. Select System Administration in the top navigation bar to open the System Administration menu along the left side of the page.
2. Expand the Communications options in the left navigation menu and select Communication Templates.

1. Select an existing template or create a new template.

Select a communication template from the list to the left of the Communication Template window or select the + icon in the Communication Template header to create a new template.

1. Open the Preview window to search for a specific student and view the communication template output.

1. Select Preview to open the Preview window.
2. Enter the student ID and choose the corresponding academic year from the Academic Year list.

   

3. Select Preview to review the communication output for that specific student. The Preview window should populate with a letter that replaces field aliases and student data blocks with information from the student record.

   

4. You can select Close at any point to close the window and return back to the communication template.
