Adding a PLUS Application

Note: This article documents the steps for manually entering a PLUS application from the student record. For information on creating a PLUS application from a COD response file, see Importing COD Files.

To manually add PLUS Applications to the student record, complete the following steps:

  1. Search for and select the student record you want to edit. For more information see Searching for Student Records.
  2. Expand the Packaging options in the middle navigation menu and select Borrowers & PLUS Applications.
  1. Select an existing borrower within the Borrowers section or create a new borrower to associate with the PLUS application. For more information on creating a borrower, see Creating a Borrower.
  2. Choose an award year from the list under the PLUS Applications header.
  1. Select +Add Application in the bottom right corner of the student window to open the Add PLUS Application window.
  2. Manually complete the fields with information about the application. The only field required is the Application ID.

    Tip: Use the field level help included in the PowerFAIDS user interface for fields you are unsure about by selecting the info help-text icon icon next to the field in question.

A success message is displayed in the upper right portion of the page letting you know the PLUS application has been created.

Once the PLUS application has been added they can be associated with a specific PLUS loan on the Federal Loans page.

  1. Navigate to the Borrowers and PLUS Application window and select the borrower's tab associated with the application you wish to edit.
  2. Edit any of the application detail fields with updated information.
  3. Select Save.
