NSLDS Global Export Options
Before exporting National Student Loan Database System (NSLDS) files for the first time, be sure to review and configure the global export options. Setting the global exporting options based on your school's processing preferences prevents users from having to set these options manually in the NSLDS export process each time, though they will still have the option to do so if a setting needs to be changed for a particular file.
To configure the global exporting options, complete the following steps:
Navigate to NSLDS Export within Import/Export.
- Select Import/Export in the top navigation bar to open the Import/Export menu along the left side of the page.
- Expand the Federal Award History (NSLDS) option in the left navigation menu and select Export.
Configure the Global Export Options.
- Choose a Request Type from the list:
- Both Financial Aid History (FAH) and Transfer Student Monitoring (TSM): If you select this option, it tells NSLDS that you want an updated FAH sent for the student records included in the file and you want to add the record to TSM or delete from TSM.
- Financial Aid History (FAH) Only: If you select this option, it tells NSLDS that you want an updated FAH sent for the student records included in the file. NSLDS will respond by sending the FAH for each student, which you can import and review.
- Transfer Student Monitoring (TSM) Only: If you select this option, it tells NSLDS that you want to add the student records included in the file to TSM or delete them from TSM based on what you set at the student level. NSLDS will monitor the student records and if something changes during the monitoring period, you will receive an alert file that you can import and review.
- Select Save.
