Reviewing and Updating Custom Process Targets for New Year Setup
If your custom processes and custom process targets contain award year-specific data, you will want to review these items to ensure they are copied or updated for the new award year.
Prior to updating custom process targets, you first will need to recreate all year-specific custom processes, updating the year-specific attributes to work in the upcoming award year. Be sure to review the steps for creating custom processes, creating functions, and copying functions prior to completing the steps below.
Example: Custom process for tuition per credit hour.
Let’s say you have a custom process that calculates the tuition per credit hour, but your institution's tuition rates change from year to year. Because New Year Setup does not automatically copy your custom processes from year to year, you'll need to copy the process and update it to reflect the new award year's tuition so that your custom process stays up-to-date in PowerFAIDS.
To update your custom process targets, complete the steps below:
- Update the custom process target's name.
- The Name field will default to “Copy of <name of [entity] being copied>.” To update this name, you can delete the default value and replace it with the desired name.
Tip: Consider including the award year in the new copy's name to help you find which custom process targets will need to be updated in future award years.
- Select Save. A success message is displayed in the upper right portion of the page letting you know the custom process target has been saved.
